President
Liliana has over 26 years of experience in the healthcare market; from medical equipment sales in 1990 to distribution sales channels development and management throughout Latin America. In 2006, she opened Axis’ first ambulatory surgical center (ASC), Hallandale Outpatient Surgical Center (HOSC), and has managed HOSC since that time showing impressive financial returns year in and year out. For nearly two decades, Liliana has worked closely with physicians and hospital leaders to develop new outpatient business opportunities. Under her leadership, Axis has grown to partner with over five ASCs and provides consultative services to many others.
Liliana brings her expertise in all aspects of billing, management and financial operations to every center. She was recently named “One of the Administrators to Know” by the Becker’s ASC Review and is a featured speaker at many ASC meetings around the country. She earned her Biomedical Engineering degree from Tulane University, Master Business Administration from Emory University, and MJ Health Law from the University of Loyola Chicago in May 2016.
Vice President of Operations and Business Development
Before joining Axis, Mike was a Senior Executive with several Multinational companies in the Medical Device space. Between 1992 and 2013, Mike ran direct and indirect sales and service operations throughout Latin America and Europe, and Russia. These companies included Smiths Medical, a large medical supply manufacturer, SonoSite, the worldwide leader in the handheld ultrasound market, Johnson & Johnson, Philips Medical Systems, SpaceLabs Medical and Nellcor Puritan Bennett. In September 2007, Mike was appointed to the Broward Health Commission by then Governor Charlie Crist. His tenure as Commissioner included 2 years as Chairman of the Board. He served as a Commissioner through August 2013. This commission oversees four hospitals, 31 clinics, and approximately 8,000 employees, with revenues of over $1 billion per year.
Mike has also served on the board of directors at the Children’s Diagnostic Treatment Center (2008-2014) and was on the audit committee of the Broward Housing Authority 2011-2013. Mike was a founding director of Floridian Community Bank and served as a director from 2003-2006 and then again from 2009-20018. Floridian Community Bank grew to a $500 million bank and in March of 2018 merged into Florida Community Bank. Mike graduated from Florida State University with degrees in Multinational Business and Marketing.
Vice President of Operations & Human Resources
In her role as Vice President of Operations and Human Resources, Maday is responsible for hiring all staff at Hallandale Outpatient Surgical Center, Pain Consultants of Florida, Axis Management and Billing Services, Surgery Center of Weston and Cypress Creek Outpatient Surgical Center.
Maday was responsible for the design and implementation of employee benefits. She is also part of the development team of all the Ambulatory Surgical Centers managed by Axis Healthcare Partners. In her current role, Maday is responsible for running the day to day administrative processes and AHCA compliance in the Life Safety area of our Surgical Centers. She oversees the effective quality assessment, performance improvement, risk management programs, and provides access to benchmarking and “best practices” processes for the centers as well.
She has extensive experience in business operations, clinical procedures, and processes. Maday is well versed in efficiencies, as well as process management for ASC’s.
As of July 2018, Maday has been promoted to Administrator of Hallandale Outpatient Surgery Center.
Director of Revenue Cycle Management
As part of her growth and development, Virginia completed multiple medical billing courses that have allowed her to become the medical billing and collections expert that she is today. Virginia’s coding proficiencies include CPC (Certified Professional Coder) as of 2011, ICD-9, ICD-10, and HCPCS. Her leadership skills have allowed her to build a strong team of 15 employees that are considered one of the best in the area of coding and collections.
